The PR-75a
personal receiver is the newest generation of COMTEK's user-friendly,
digitally synthesized monitor receivers designed for high fidelity auditory
assistance and other personal communication applications. Ideal where
multiple transmitters in the 72-76 MHz band are operating independently
in the same building, the PR-75a AutoSmart-Tuning makes it possible
for the listener to use the same receiver to attend multiple programs
at church services, school classes, museum exhibits, theaters, and stadiums,
etc.
This unique
receiver will automatically turn itself on and initiate its AutoSmart-Tuning
when the earphone is plugged in. The PR-75a's AutoSmart-Tuning process
selects the closest appropriate transmitter in its vicinity and then sets
itself to this channel. This also establishes the receiver's compatible
frequency group when multiple channel operation is in use in the same
area. A convenient one-button tuning control will cause the receiver to
seek only channels belonging to its frequency group, eliminating the possibility
of tuning to an incorrect channel.
A single
LED indicator system monitors all necessary receiver functions:
- During
the initial tuning process, the LED indicator will blink very rapidly
indicating channel selection.
- The LED
indicator will illuminate continuously when a signal is being received.
- A steady
slow LED flash rate indicates that the receiver is no longer receiving
a signal.
- The LED
will flash rapidly indicating that the 3 volt battery supply has fallen
below 2 volts and the unit must be recharged or two new AA size 1.5
volt batteries are needed.
The PR-75
is compatible with the M-72 type L transmitter and the BST-50b digitally
synthesized base station transmitter.
FP-75
Field Programmer

The
FP-75 Field Channel Programmer provides a quick and convenient way to
change the channels of large numbers of PR-75 receivers to accommodate
different venues requiring a different set of channels. The programmer
will allow the receiver to receive one or more designated channels or
any specific group channels that can then be manually accessed in sequence
for "roundabout" type of channel selection with the AutoSmart-Tuning
button (AST). In this mode of operation the AutoSmart-Tuning function
is inhibited and only the channel or channels programmed will be received.
